Shoova House

About Shoova House

Shoova House is a sober living operator based in Glassboro, New Jersey, in Gloucester County, running eight licensed cooperative sober living residences across Gloucester, Camden and Atlantic counties.

A South Jersey Sober Living Operator

Shoova House owns and runs the properties it houses residents in, keeping admissions, house rules and staffing inside one organization across every address. That structure spans eight licensed homes in three South Jersey counties, one of the broader single-brand footprints among the state's cooperative sober living operators.

Eight Licensed Homes Across Three Counties

Shoova House holds a Class F Cooperative Sober Living Residence license for each of the following addresses:

  • A women's home on Wilmer Street in Glassboro, Gloucester County.
  • A home on Chews Landing Road in Laurel Springs, Camden County.
  • A home on N Riding Drive in Cherry Hill, Camden County.
  • A men's home on 3rd Street in National Park, Gloucester County.
  • A home on South Woodbury Road in Pitman, Gloucester County.
  • A home on Maple Avenue in Linwood, Atlantic County.
  • A home on Golfview Drive in Northfield, Atlantic County.
  • A home on Curtis Avenue in Woodbury, Gloucester County.

Four of the eight sit in Gloucester County, giving Shoova House its heaviest concentration in the Route 55 corridor towns of Glassboro, National Park, Pitman and Woodbury, the Gloucester County seat.

Housing Men and Women in Separate Homes

Shoova House keeps its houses single-gender. The Wilmer Street house in Glassboro serves women, and the 3rd Street house in National Park serves men. The operator has not published a gender assignment for its other six addresses, so anyone applying to one of them should confirm it directly before move-in.

New Jersey's Licensing Standard for This Operator

New Jersey runs no certification program for recovery housing. Each Shoova House address is licensed on its own under N.J.A.C. 5:27, registered with the Department of Community Affairs and subject to inspection under the state's rooming and boarding house code. New Jersey's licensing rules for sober living homes apply the same way to every address in the network.

Serving Gloucester, Camden and Atlantic Counties

Glassboro, National Park, Pitman and Woodbury sit inside Gloucester County along the Route 55 and Route 322 corridors. Laurel Springs and Cherry Hill extend the network into Camden County, and Linwood and Northfield carry it southeast into Atlantic County near the shore. A resident placed at any one of the eight addresses stays within reach of the other seven, which matters if a transfer between houses becomes necessary.

Applying to a Shoova House Location

Admissions run through Shoova House for the whole network, not through a separate contact at each address. A prospective resident should specify which town they are interested in and confirm gender placement, current openings and the weekly rate before moving forward.
