SafeSide Recovery

About SafeSide Recovery

SafeSide Recovery is a peer-led sober living operator based in Denver, Colorado, running certified recovery housing across Denver County and additional recovery programs in Pueblo.

A Denver Recovery Housing Provider

SafeSide Recovery describes itself as a peer-led organization, meaning the people running its houses bring their own lived experience of addiction, housing instability and recovery to the work. That approach shapes daily life across every SafeSide house: structure and accountability come from people who have been through the same thing residents are going through now.

Five Sober Houses in Denver

SafeSide Recovery operates five certified sober houses in the Denver area:

  • Zenith House, in northwest Denver, for men.
  • Athens House, in northwest Denver, for men.
  • Arcadia House, in northwest Denver, for men.
  • Leona House, in northwest Denver, for women.
  • Dakin House, in Denver, certified separately from the other four.

The first four sit near 72nd Avenue and Pecos Street, a tight cluster that keeps residents close to the same outpatient providers, courts and transit lines no matter which house they move between.

Regular and Random Testing Across the Portfolio

SafeSide Recovery applies the same expectations at every house it runs: curfews, household responsibilities, active engagement in recovery, and regular and random drug and alcohol testing. That consistency means a resident transferring from one SafeSide house to another is not learning a new set of rules.

What Certification Establishes Across These Houses

Certification through Ohio Recovery Housing - Colorado commits a residence to a published code of ethics, disclosed fees and rules, and an outside complaint process. Colorado does not require certification to run a sober house, but it is close to mandatory for a house that wants to accept state referrals and funding.

Serving Denver and Beyond

Beyond its Denver houses, SafeSide Recovery operates the SafeSide Foundation and The Pueblo Shelter in Pueblo, extending the same peer-led model south along the Front Range. A resident who needs to relocate within Colorado can ask SafeSide directly whether a transfer between cities is an option.
