Ruth's Way draws its name and model from the Biblical story of Ruth and Naomi, two women who supported each other through hardship, and the organization frames its houses around that same idea: women helping women stay accountable to a shared recovery. Ruth's Way operates two sober living homes for women:

• Ruth's Way, on Waitt Avenue in Lynn.
• Ruth's Way, on Vernon Street in Wakefield.

Lynn sits in Essex County on the North Shore, and Wakefield sits inland in Middlesex County, giving the operator a footprint that spans two counties.

MASH Certification at Both Addresses

Both homes carry NARR Level II certification through the Massachusetts Alliance for Sober Housing, the state's affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences. That means both addresses publish their fees and rules before move-in and keep a written relapse and discharge policy subject to outside review.

Applications go through Ruth's Way directly, regardless of whether a woman is applying to the Lynn or Wakefield address. Both houses run under the same organization and the same certification, so a transfer between them, if the fit needs adjusting, stays inside one relationship.
