About Recovery Housing Initiative-Colorado

Recovery Housing Initiative-Colorado, known as RHI-C, is a nonprofit sober living operator based in Colorado, certifying and running recovery residences across the Denver metropolitan area. The organization began as a sober living provider and later reorganized as a nonprofit to broaden who it could serve and remove barriers to care, and it now describes itself as the state's premier nonprofit provider of recovery housing.

A Statewide Colorado Recovery Housing Provider

RHI-C's certification with Ohio Recovery Housing - Colorado covers residences it identifies in Aurora, Colorado Springs, Denver and Fort Collins. Its documented Aurora and Denver locations concentrate in the Denver metropolitan area, where the organization runs the largest share of its certified housing.

Serving Aurora and Denver

RHI-C runs certified sober living homes across Aurora's Arapahoe County section and in Denver, including houses known internally as Xanthia, Oswego, Joliet, Moline North, Moline South, Fairplay, Baltic West, Lansing, Leewood, Westchester, Sunset, Mexico, Oakland, Thurber, Holly, Colorado, Brent, Bails and Albuquerque. Public street addresses are not published for these residences, either in the state certification registry or on the operator's own site, so anyone comparing locations should confirm the address directly with RHI-C before applying.

Sober Living Operator Certified Through ORH-CO

Every RHI-C residence in this portfolio is certified through Ohio Recovery Housing - Colorado, the body Colorado's Behavioral Health Administration recognizes for state referrals and funding under House Bill 19-1009. A certified operator publishes a code of ethics, discloses fees and rules to applicants in writing, and accepts an outside complaint process. Colorado does not publish per-residence certification levels, so certification with ORH-CO is the credential to verify across the entire portfolio; no house in it carries its own level.

Medication-Assisted Recovery Across the Portfolio

RHI-C accepts residents on medication for opioid use disorder at its certified homes, a policy the organization applies consistently across every certified address. It also makes rent subsidy support available to residents who qualify, which widens access for applicants leaving treatment without steady income yet. None of RHI-C's certified housing operates as family housing, and none of its programming is faith-based.

Recovery Housing for the Denver Metro Area

Aurora and Denver together form the core of the Denver metropolitan area, a service hub for eastern Colorado that concentrates hospitals, outpatient behavioral health clinics, transit and job training in one connected region. The Anschutz Medical Campus, Denver Health, Community College of Aurora and RTD's rail network all sit inside this footprint, giving RHI-C residents access to care and services without leaving the metro area regardless of which house they are placed in.

Applying to a Recovery Housing Initiative-Colorado Sober House

Applications for any RHI-C residence go through the organization directly, not to an individual house. Questions worth asking include which specific address is open, whether rent subsidy support applies, whether the applicant's medication regimen is accommodated, and how a transfer between houses is handled if the fit is not right after move-in. A resident applying to a Recovery Housing Initiative-Colorado sober home should expect the same certified standards at whichever address has an opening.
