About Recovery Centers of Arkansas

Recovery Centers of Arkansas is a Little Rock recovery housing provider and treatment organization running a full continuum in Pulaski County, from residential treatment through sober living into independent apartments. All of its published locations sit inside the Little Rock city limits.

A Little Rock Recovery Housing Provider Running a Continuum

Most organizations in Arkansas do one thing: they treat people, or they house them. This one does both, and it owns every step between. The consequence for a resident is that the hardest transitions in recovery, the ones from treatment to sober living and from sober living to a lease, happen inside one organization with one set of records. Nobody has to start over as a stranger at the point where starting over is most likely to fail.

Where These Little Rock Recovery Homes Are

Four locations carry the Recovery Centers of Arkansas name:

  • Oasis Renewal Center, on Cooper Orbit Road in west Little Rock: coed residential treatment with cabin housing on 48 wooded acres.
  • Sibley Center, on Sibley Hole Road in southwest Little Rock: residential treatment exclusively for women.
  • The Cottage, at the Sibley Hole Road site: long-term sober living for women.
  • Steeplechase Apartments, on Father Tribou Street in west Little Rock: 26 one-bedroom and efficiency studios of independent housing.

A fifth location, Williamsburg, is named on the organization's own locations page without a published address or program description.

Accreditation Behind This Arkansas Sober Living Operator

The organization displays accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, licensure through the state's Division of Behavioral Health Services, and affiliation with the Hazelden Betty Ford Patient Care Network. Arkansas licenses clinical treatment through its Department of Human Services and does not license recovery residences. An operator holding clinical licensure and outside accreditation is audited on a schedule by people who do not work there, and that is a heavier standard than housing alone is held to anywhere in this state.

Women's and Coed Recovery Housing Under One Provider

Sibley Center and The Cottage are women only. Oasis Renewal Center and Steeplechase are coed. That mix gives a woman entering the system a single-gender path all the way from residential treatment through sober living, and it gives everyone a coed option at the entry and independent ends. The split is at the site level, so a household is never a token gender.

One Application Across Several Recovery Residences

Admissions run through the organization instead of house by house. Somebody calling about a bed is being assessed for the right level of care across four addresses at once, which is a materially different conversation from calling four separate houses and asking each whether it has a room. The questions worth asking at the operator level are about the transitions: what qualifies a resident to move from treatment to The Cottage, what qualifies her to move from The Cottage to Steeplechase, what each step costs, and what happens to the placement after a relapse.

Recovery Housing for Central Arkansas

Little Rock is the state capital, the seat of Pulaski County and the hub of the state's treatment capacity. People come to it from the whole of central and southern Arkansas because for much of the state it is the closest place with residential treatment, outpatient care, a courthouse and a bus system in the same city. An operator with four Little Rock addresses is positioned in the one market where a resident can hold a job, a court obligation and an appointment without leaving the county.
