Our Brother's Place
About Our Brother's Place
Our Brother's Place is a nonprofit sober living operator in Indianapolis, Indiana, running transitional housing for men and women in recovery across Marion County. John Curry founded the organization after his own recovery from twenty-two years of addiction, and the program has grown to house close to two hundred fifty residents over the years.
An Indianapolis Recovery Housing Provider
Our Brother's Place builds clinical support directly into its housing. The organization employs licensed counselors, social workers and certified addiction specialists, and it runs targeted mentorship and individualized counseling for residents who move on from the program, so support does not end at move-out.
Separate Housing for Men and Women
Our Brother's Place houses men and women in separate residences, which keeps house rules, meetings and shared space built around one population at each address. The organization's certified Fairfield Avenue property is one piece of a housing portfolio that has grown well beyond its original single house.
What Level III Certification Establishes
At least one Our Brother's Place property carries Level III designation through the Indiana Affiliation of Recovery Residences, the tier for structured peer housing without live-in clinical staff. That status requires published fees and rules and a complaint process outside the organization, on top of the clinical staffing the program already maintains.
Weekly Recovery Workshops for the Wider Community
Our Brother's Place opens recovery workshops each week to people outside its own residents, connecting anyone in the community at any stage of recovery with the organization's counselors and peer network. That reach beyond its own housing is part of how the organization has sustained itself and grown since its founding.
Serving Marion County for Decades
Indianapolis is the seat of Marion County and the state capital, and Our Brother's Place has operated there long enough to become one of the city's established transitional housing providers. A resident referred to the organization is entering a program with a long, established track record.
