Santiago Naranjo founded Orange Grove Foundation as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, receiving that status in April 2024, after living in Washington since 2014. The foundation focuses on drug and alcohol-free shared housing built around peer support instead of clinical staff on site.

Two Homes in King and Pierce Counties

Orange Grove Foundation operates Seahurst Recovery Home in Burien and Billy's Blue House in Tacoma, both certified men's sober living homes roughly thirty miles apart on opposite sides of the southern Puget Sound area.

Who Orange Grove Foundation Serves

The foundation describes its mission as housing people facing significant barriers, naming homeless veterans, LGBTQ+ youth, survivors of intimate partner violence, and young adults aging out of foster care alongside the broader population its houses serve.

WAQRR Certification at Both Properties

Both Orange Grove Foundation homes hold Level 2 certification from the Washington Alliance for Quality Recovery Residences. Certification is voluntary in Washington, and a newer operator that has certified its full two-house portfolio has chosen a published code of ethics and outside complaint process over an unregulated arrangement.

What the Program Costs

Orange Grove Foundation publishes its terms directly: $250 a week or $1,000 a month, plus a one-time $300 intake fee, with thirty days of prior sobriety and a commitment to a recovery plan required before move-in. Utilities, internet, and laundry are included in that price.
