About M3 Bridge Recovery

M3 Bridge Recovery is a faith-based sober living operator in North Chesterfield, Virginia, running certified men's recovery housing across the Richmond and Chesterfield area. It works as a recovery community organization as well as a housing provider, and its residences are accredited on Virginia's state register.

A Faith-Based Recovery Housing Provider South of Richmond

The organization grew out of a recovery ministry at M3 Church in Chesterfield County, founded by Pastor Wade Runge, and it describes its work as building bridges to recovery, hope and a new life. It states its faith basis openly, which is the honest way to run a faith-based house: an applicant knows what he is walking into and can ask what is required of him. The housing itself is certified under the same state rules that govern every other recovery residence in Virginia.

Three Men's Sober Homes in the Richmond and Chesterfield Area

Three residences appear on Virginia's register under this operator:

  • Lake House, on Dorset Court in North Chesterfield, for men.
  • Water House, on Waldor Drive in Richmond, for men.
  • Winterleaf, on Winterleaf Drive in Richmond, for men.

All three sit within a few miles of each other on the south side, straddling the Richmond city line and the northern arm of Chesterfield County. Every one is a men's house at Level of Support 2, and the register entries name veterans, LGBTQIA+ residents and men with co-occurring disorders among the populations served.

A Recovery Community Organization Behind the Sober Houses

The housing is one part of the organization. It also operates as a recovery community organization, delivering peer recovery coaching, life-skills instruction, employment-readiness work and general recovery support services. That combination addresses the failures that actually end a tenancy in recovery housing: no job, no identification, no transportation, no one to call at nine at night. Clinical treatment is not delivered in the houses, so residents keep outside prescribers and therapists.

VARR Accreditation and the DBHDS Register

The operator names both the Virginia Association of Recovery Residences and the state's behavioral health department in its own public materials, and all three of its residences appear on the register the Commonwealth publishes. Virginia does not treat this as a badge. Certification is legally required, operating without it is a criminal offense, and the credential binds each residence separately to a code of ethics, written disclosure of fees and rules before move-in, a written relapse and discharge policy, and a complaint process outside the house.

Men's Recovery Housing on the Chesterfield Side

Certified recovery housing in Region 4 is concentrated in Richmond and Henrico County. The south side has less of it, and this operator's three houses are all on that side of the river. For a man whose family, job or court obligations sit in Chesterfield County, that geography removes an hour a day of commuting and keeps him in the jurisdiction where his obligations live.

Reaching M3 Bridge Recovery

Intake runs through the organization directly, and it accepts inquiries from residents, families and referring providers. The questions worth asking at the operator level are how long it has housed men in the Richmond area, whether attendance at faith-based programming is required or offered, how fees and deposits are documented and refunded, whether a resident can move between the three houses when a placement is wrong, and how a complaint gets escalated past the house to the operator and then to the certifying body.
