About Kingdom Wellness Collaborative

Kingdom Wellness Collaborative is a sober living operator in Derby, Vermont, providing certified recovery housing and workforce development in Orleans County. The nonprofit was established in November 2024 to support the Northeast Kingdom with sober living, workforce development and wraparound care for substance use disorder, and it runs a men's recovery residence accredited by the Vermont Alliance for Recovery Residences.

A Northeast Kingdom Recovery Housing Provider

The Northeast Kingdom is the least served corner of Vermont for recovery housing, and this organization was formed specifically to change that. It came together after two people independently called the same realtor about the same building on the same day in August 2023, which is a founding story that says something about how obvious the need was locally. The organization is young, and a resident should expect the transparency and the rough edges that come with a new nonprofit.

Modeled on a Proven Vermont Recovery Housing Program

The program was built on the model of an established women's recovery organization in Johnson, Vermont, which runs phased housing alongside social enterprises that employ people in recovery. Borrowing a working model instead of inventing one is the single most useful fact about a two-year-old operator, because it tells an applicant where the policies, the phase structure and the workforce component came from.

Clinical and Peer Partnerships Behind the Housing

The organization works with Northeast Kingdom Human Services, the region's designated mental health agency, and partners with a trauma-centered organization for additional support. Every resident is required to have a recovery coach through the regional recovery community center in Newport and to engage there for peer support and groups. The housing supplies the address and the structure, and the clinical care comes from providers who already serve the region.

Sober Living With Workforce Development Attached

The residence is a sober living and workforce development program, aimed at men coming from inpatient treatment or incarceration. The stated goal is that residents develop their recovery plans and become self-supporting with a view to permanent housing, and the operator states plainly that it believes in multiple pathways of recovery. On-site groups include AA, NA, all-recovery and meditation.
