Keeping Families Together Inc does not currently appear on that list. Wisconsin requires neither record, so absence establishes nothing about how the housing is run. It does leave fewer public documents for an outsider to read, and it moves the burden onto what the operator will put in writing on request.

Outpatient providers, the Dane County courts, technical college classes and the largest entry-level job market in south central Wisconsin all sit within a short drive, and the address itself sits outside the neighborhoods someone may be trying to stay away from.

The questions that belong at the operator level differ from the ones about a particular household: how long it has housed people in recovery in Dane County, whether it takes referrals from treatment providers, the drug court or the county's recovery coaches, how deposits and fees are documented and refunded, whether its registry entry is current, and how a complaint gets escalated past whoever answers the phone. An operator carrying a public state record should have all of those ready.
