Jane's Way Sober Living
About Jane's Way Sober Living
Jane's Way Sober Living is a sober living operator in Cherry Hill and Marlton, New Jersey, running six licensed recovery homes along the Route 70 corridor in Camden and Burlington counties.
A Recovery Housing Provider on the Route 70 Corridor
Jane's Way houses both men and women, which is uncommon among South Jersey operators and is the first thing that sets it apart. Running both populations means the organization can keep a couple, a pair of siblings or a parent and adult child inside the same program and the same stretch of road instead of splitting them across two providers. It also means an applicant turned away for lack of a bed in one house may still find one in another nearby.
Six Sober Homes in Cherry Hill and Marlton
The operator's licensed addresses split evenly between two towns on either side of the Camden and Burlington county line:
- Jane's Way Sober Living, on Marlton Pike East in Cherry Hill Township, Camden County.
- Jane's Way Sober Living, on Kingston Drive in Cherry Hill, Camden County.
- Jane's Way Sober Living, on Main Street in Cherry Hill, Camden County.
- Jane's Way Sober Living, on North Cropwell Road in Marlton, Burlington County.
- Jane's Way Sober Living, on Chadsford Court in Marlton, Burlington County.
- Jane's Way Sober Living, on Wildcat Avenue in Marlton, Burlington County.
Marlton Pike is Route 70 itself, and the Marlton houses sit a few minutes east of the Cherry Hill addresses on the same road, in ordinary residential neighborhoods off the highway. Nothing in the six-house portfolio is more than about fifteen minutes from anything else in it.
Small Sober Homes, Separate State Licenses
Each of the six addresses holds its own New Jersey Department of Community Affairs license as a cooperative sober living residence, and each is inspected on its own record. That structure describes households instead of one large facility, and for a resident the practical result is scale: these are homes with a handful of people in them, where everyone knows everyone by the end of the first week, whichever of the six they land in.
Licensed Recovery Housing Under New Jersey's Class F Standard
New Jersey certifies no recovery residences. The state's alliance dissolved, its successor has not launched, and the national alliance lists no New Jersey affiliate, so certification language attached to any New Jersey provider does not hold up. The credential that does exist is the Department of Community Affairs license, mandatory for cooperative sober living residences and enforced through inspection and an outside complaint process. A guide covers what New Jersey licensing requires and what it does not.
Recovery Housing Across Cherry Hill and Marlton
Cherry Hill is the largest municipality in Camden County and its suburban employment center. Marlton anchors the western edge of Burlington County at the Route 70 and Route 73 interchange. Straddling the county line gives residents two counties' worth of courts, outpatient providers and meeting schedules to draw on: Camden County's courthouse and Cooper University Hospital on one side, Burlington County's courts and social services in Mount Holly on the other, and Virtua hospitals serving both. Philadelphia is half an hour west of either cluster.
Questions Worth Asking This Sober Living Operator
At the operator level, the useful questions differ from the ones about a single house. How long has the organization housed residents in South Jersey. How are men and women assigned across six addresses. Is the weekly fee the same everywhere, and what does it include. Does the operator take referrals from treatment providers or the county courts, and can a resident move between its houses if a placement is not working. An operator holding six current licenses across two counties should have all of that settled.
