Huntington Transitional Living
About Huntington Transitional Living
Huntington Transitional Living is a sober living operator in Huntington, West Virginia, running eight certified recovery residences across Cabell County. Every house holds four beds and every one charges $420 a month, which makes it one of the more unusual portfolios in the state: a single operator running eight small households instead of two or three large ones.
A Small-House Recovery Housing Provider
Four beds per house is a deliberate structure. A four-person household has no crowd to disappear into, no dormitory dynamic and no anonymity, and residents who do poorly in larger recovery homes often do well in one. Running eight of them means the operator can place someone in a household, and can move a resident who is not fitting without sending him out of the city.
Huntington Transitional Living Sober Homes
- Three men's houses on 8th Avenue, including two adjacent addresses in the same block.
- A men's house on 4th Street and another on Hall Street.
- Women's houses on 9th Avenue, 28th Street and Davis Street.
All eight sit inside Huntington. The tight footprint means a transfer between houses leaves a resident's job, bus route, prescriber and meeting schedule untouched.
Men's and Women's Sober Houses Under One Operator
Five houses serve men and three serve women, each of them single-gender. Applying to the operator, and the terms do not change from house to house.
Level 2 Certification Across Eight Addresses
Every residence carries Level 2 certification from the West Virginia Alliance of Recovery Residences, the state's affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences, with admission requiring ninety days sober or arrival from long-term treatment. Certification is granted address by address, so holding it uniformly across eight houses reflects an operator-level commitment to written fee disclosure, a written relapse and discharge policy, and an external complaint process.
Medication-Assisted Recovery in a Cabell County Sober Living Operator
Sublocade, Vivitrol and Brixadi are accepted at all eight addresses. Cabell County has carried the heaviest overdose burden of any county its size in the country, and an operator that sets one medication policy across a whole portfolio removes a common reason people lose a bed in the first month.
