Horizon Health Services
About Horizon Health Services
Horizon Health Services is a sober living operator running recovery homes in Sanborn, New York, in Niagara County. Its residential campus off Inducon Drive East holds four separate villages, each built for a different population, and the organization provides outpatient addiction and mental health care across western New York.
A Western New York Recovery Housing Provider
Horizon is a treatment organization that also runs beds, and the combination is what a referring clinician is buying. Admission runs through a single central intake. Outpatient care, family therapy and support coordination come from the same organization that houses the resident, so the handoff at discharge is internal. For someone leaving a residential program, that continuity removes the most common failure point in the whole sequence: the gap between the last day in the bed and the first outpatient appointment.
Four Sober Living Villages on the Inducon Drive Campus
The residential campus in the hamlet of Sanborn holds four villages:
- Horizon Village, on Inducon Drive East, a fifty-bed rehabilitation program for men.
- Freedom Village, on Inducon Drive East, for men, with specialized programming for veterans and first responders.
- Delta Village, on Inducon Drive East, intensive treatment for young adult men.
- Aurora Village, on Inducon Drive East, for adults who identify as women.
All four sit within a few hundred yards of each other, which is what makes the sorting possible in the first place. A small operator with one house has to take whoever fits the one house it has.
Men's and Women's Recovery Homes Under One Operator
Three villages serve men and one serves adults who identify as women, each as a separate household in a separate building. Keeping the split at the building level means house rules, groups and shared space are written for one population, and no resident is the only woman or the only twenty-year-old in the room. Referrals land at the campus and are sorted from there.
Specialized Recovery Housing for Veterans and Young Adults
Two of the four villages carry a defined specialization. Freedom Village is built around veterans and first responders, a population that tends to go quiet in a general treatment group and that arrives with pensions, licensing obligations and employer relationships to manage. Delta Village is built around young adult men, whose obstacles are usually unfinished schooling, no work history and a social circle organized entirely around use. Specialization at this level is unusual for a single campus and it is the strongest reason to consider this operator.
Insurance, Referrals and Admission to These Recovery Homes
Horizon publishes acceptance of Medicaid, Medicare Advantage products and a broad list of commercial insurers at its Sanborn locations, and admissions run through one new patient intake line for the whole campus. Cost and authorization decide whether most people reach residential care at all, so an operator that takes Medicaid across its residential portfolio is reachable by the population with the highest need.
Serving Niagara County With Recovery Homes
Niagara County holds Lockport as its seat, Niagara Falls as its largest city, and a wide band of farmland and small towns in between. Recovery housing across that territory is scarce, and a four-village campus in the middle of the county is the region's largest concentration of residential beds. Buffalo, thirty miles south, supplies the hospitals, the colleges and the job market a resident steps into next. New York publishes statewide treatment and recovery resources through OASAS, which certifies residential addiction programs in the state.
