Heart Rock is a sober living operator in Indianapolis, Indiana, running certified recovery housing for pregnant and parenting women in Marion County. The program is run under Overdose Lifeline and operates two residences on Winthrop Avenue, both designated Level III recovery residences.

An Indianapolis Recovery Housing Provider for Mothers

Heart Rock is built around a population most sober living operators do not serve directly: pregnant women and mothers of children under two, who can live with their child on site while working through a trauma-informed recovery program. Clinical partners deliver individual and group therapy, and Heart Rock's own staff manage case coordination, childcare during programming, and life-skills training.

Two Homes on Winthrop Avenue

Heart Rock runs its two women's residences on Winthrop Avenue in Indianapolis, close enough to each other that staff, childcare and group programming serve both houses without duplication. Both carry Level III designation on Indiana's DMHA Recovery Residence Designation list.

Level III Designation Under Indiana's DMHA Program

Indiana designates recovery residences through the state Family and Social Services Administration, reviewed against standards set by the Indiana Affiliation of Recovery Residences, the state's NARR affiliate. Heart Rock's Level III designation covers housing with on-site oversight and coordination with outside clinical services, which is the model both Winthrop Avenue houses run.

A Long-Term, Sliding-Scale Program

The average stay runs twelve to eighteen months, priced on a sliding scale tied to a resident's income with financial assistance available. That combination is meant for women who need more time and cannot afford a market-rate program while pregnant or caring for an infant.

Serving Marion County Families

Indianapolis is the state capital and the seat of Marion County, home to the hospitals, family courts and outpatient providers that refer women into Heart Rock's program. A resident's case manager coordinates directly with those referral sources both during the stay and after a woman moves toward independent living.
