Greenhouse Recovery is a nonprofit sober living operator based in Chester, Pennsylvania, running four licensed recovery houses for men across Chester and neighboring Upland in Delaware County.

A Delaware County Recovery Housing Network

Greenhouse Recovery describes itself as a network of affordable, substance-free housing for men overcoming life-dominating addictions, serving Chester, Upland and the broader tri-state area around Philadelphia, Wilmington and southern New Jersey. The organization is led by John Clifford and organized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Four Houses in Chester and Upland

The organization's Pennsylvania houses are:

• Two houses on East 24th Street in Chester, for men.
• A house on Worrell Street in Chester, for men.
• A house on Sixth Street in Upland, for men.

Recovery Coaching in Place of On-Site Treatment

Greenhouse Recovery's model puts trained recovery coaches at the center of daily life in each house, supported by help accessing employment, legal assistance and other practical needs. Medical and clinical treatment stay with outside providers, and the organization's job is the housing, structure and peer accountability around it.

Licensure and Delaware County Contracting

Every Greenhouse Recovery house is licensed as a recovery house by the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs under Act 59, and the organization also holds status as a Delaware County contracted provider, which brings county referrals into its houses alongside the state license.

A Member of the Alliance for Recovery Centered Organizations

Greenhouse Recovery belongs to the Alliance for Recovery Centered Organizations, convened nationally by Faces & Voices of Recovery, which ties its peer-support model to standards set outside the organization itself.

Serving Men in Chester and Upland

Every Greenhouse Recovery house serves men, and the organization's four Delaware County addresses give it room to place a resident close to the same recovery coaches and county case managers even when a specific house is full.
