About Greater Impact Inc.
Greater Impact Inc. is a sober living operator in Bozeman, Montana, running certified recovery housing across Gallatin County. The 501(c)(3) started in 2017, before it had a name, with volunteers helping neighbors solve car trouble and housing problems, and it now runs sober homes, a peer recovery center, recovery coaching, a low cost vehicle program and firewood delivery out of the same organization.
A Bozeman Recovery Housing Provider
The housing is one arm of a community organization, and that shapes what a resident gets. The houses supply an address, housemates and structure. The rest of the organization supplies the things that quietly end a lot of early recoveries: no way to get to work, no heat in February, nobody to talk to on a Sunday. An operator that can hand a resident a running vehicle and a peer supporter in the same week is solving problems most sober living providers refer out.
Men's and Women's Sober Houses in the Gallatin Valley
Four residences are registered with the state under this operator:
- Jeremy House, in Bozeman, for men 18 and over.
- Jeremy House - Downtown, in Bozeman, for men 18 and over.
- Lindsey House, in Bozeman, for women 18 and over.
- Lindsey House - South Side, in Bozeman, for women 18 and over.
Every house is single gender, and the operator runs the men's and women's residences as separate households with their own rules and meetings. Keeping the split at the house level means nobody is the only man or the only woman in a mixed building, and a resident who needs a different household can move inside the group.
Level 3 Certification Across These Recovery Homes
All four residences are certified by Recovery Access Montana at Level 3, the supervised tier of the national recovery residence standards. Level 3 describes housing run inside an organizational structure with administrative oversight, staff responsible for each household, documented policies on admission, conduct, relapse and discharge, and deliberate attention to life skills. Certification in Montana is voluntary and is granted residence by residence, so an operator carrying it on every house it runs has chosen to be measured across the whole portfolio.
Recovery Point and Peer Support Beyond Sober Living
Greater Impact operates Recovery Point, a peer recovery center in Bozeman, and residents have access to peer support there as well as in their houses. Recovery coaching runs through the same organization. For someone new to 12 step programs, which the houses introduce as part of the model, having a staffed place to go between meetings shortens the distance between arriving in town knowing nobody and having a fellowship.
Where This Gallatin Valley Sober Living Operator Works
The footprint is Bozeman and the Gallatin Valley, the fastest growing part of Montana and the most expensive place in the state to rent. Montana State University, Bozeman Health, the county courts and a large construction and hospitality economy all sit within a short radius, so work and obligations are reachable. The same growth has priced a private apartment out of range for most people leaving treatment, which is the gap certified recovery housing fills here.
Applying to a Greater Impact Sober House
Applications go directly to the operator and reach the whole group. The questions to put to a recovery housing provider differ from the ones about a single address: how long it has housed residents in the valley, whether it accepts referrals from treatment providers and the county treatment court, how fees and deposits are documented and refunded, whether a resident can transfer between houses, and how a complaint moves past a house manager to the organization and then to the certifying body.
