Destination Recovery - New Jersey

About Destination Recovery - New Jersey

Destination Recovery is a sober living operator based in Burlington, New Jersey, running phase-based recovery housing for men across Burlington County. Co-owned by Joseph D'Andrea, the organization is headquartered across the Delaware River in Levittown, Pennsylvania, and it holds licenses under three related business names for six Cooperative Sober Living Residences in Burlington City, Riverside and Palmyra.

A Phase-Based Sober Living Operator

Destination Recovery structures its housing in phases, with different expectations for a new arrival than for someone further along. A move-in probation period comes first, followed by twelve-step meeting attendance, rotating house chores and a nightly curfew, with an assigned recovery coach tracking each resident's progress through the program. The model is built for men who need closer oversight early and less of it as recovery holds.

Six Licensed Sober Homes Across Burlington County

Destination Recovery's New Jersey licenses cover six addresses:

  • 209 West Union Street, Burlington City.
  • 131 East Federal Street, Burlington City.
  • 535 York Street, Burlington City, licensed as Destination House.
  • 314 Jones Avenue, Burlington City, licensed as Destination Recovery II.
  • 526 West Sixth Street, Palmyra.
  • 301-305 South Fairview Street, Riverside.

Four of the six sit inside Burlington City itself, with one each in Palmyra and Riverside just downriver.

One Recovery Housing Program Under Three Business Names

Destination House and Destination Recovery II are licensed separately from Destination Recovery, but the names describe one growing network. Facebook posts from the organization track a numbered progression of phase houses opening as the program has expanded, and the additional Burlington City licenses fit that same pattern of growth under related names.

A Recovery Coach at Every Sober House

The recovery-coach model is the constant across every Destination Recovery address. Every resident is paired with a coach from move-in through the length of the stay, and the same core expectations, meetings, chores, curfew, apply whether a man lands in Burlington City, Riverside or Palmyra.

Licensed Sober Living Under New Jersey's Class F Rule

New Jersey has no certification program for recovery residences. Each Destination Recovery address instead carries its own Department of Community Affairs license as a Class F Cooperative Sober Living Residence under N.J.A.C. 5:27, the state's actual checkpoint on a shared recovery house.

Medication-Assisted Recovery Accepted Across the Network

Destination Recovery accepts residents on medication-assisted treatment in any form. That policy matters in a field where plenty of sober living programs reject it outright, and it keeps a resident's prescribed treatment and housing aligned instead of forcing a choice between them.

Recovery Housing Along the Burlington County Riverfront

Burlington City, Riverside and Palmyra sit in a tight cluster along the Delaware River in Burlington County, closer in daily life to Philadelphia than to Mount Holly, the county seat further inland. Destination Recovery's presence on both sides of the river fits that geography, and it gives residents a network to move within if a house or a phase turns out to be the wrong fit.
