About Cook Inlet Tribal Council
Cook Inlet Tribal Council is a sober living operator in Anchorage, Alaska, running residential recovery homes across the Municipality of Anchorage. Its recovery and re-entry services sit within a much larger tribal nonprofit serving Alaska Native and American Indian people, and everyone else, across the state.
The Recovery Homes This Operator Runs
Two residential programs carry the housing work. Chanlyut sits at 3149 Mountain View Drive in Anchorage, a 14-bed short-term residential program for men with an average stay of twelve weeks. The Ernie Turner Center sits at 30881 Eklutna Lake Road in Chugiak, a 16-bed coed residential program for adults eighteen and over, built around a 90-day stay.
What Sets This Recovery Housing Provider Apart
Alaska Native values and culture run through the services rather than sitting alongside them. In the residential facilities, residents eat traditional Alaska Native foods and take part in harvesting berries, salmon and hooligan. The Chugiak site includes a carving room, an arts and crafts area and a therapeutic sweat lodge.
Sober Living Operator With A Re-Entry Focus
The organization works with the Department of Corrections, community residential centers, treatment providers and other re-entry partners to help people rebuild after incarceration. Chanlyut in particular has a long-standing reputation for re-entry support, job training and life skills alongside its recovery work.
Alaska Sober Homes And Geography
One site sits in a dense Anchorage neighborhood and the other on a six-acre wooded tract near Eklutna Village, roughly half an hour north. That spread lets a person choose between staying connected to the city and stepping back from it, without leaving the Municipality of Anchorage or the same organization.
Serving Anchorage And Chugiak
Both communities fall inside the Municipality of Anchorage, so residents remain within reach of the state's largest concentration of outpatient providers, employers and transit.
