About Communities of Recovery, INC (CORE)
Communities of Recovery, INC (CORE) is a sober living operator based in Branson, Missouri, running certified recovery housing across the Branson and Springfield area. The organization opened its first residential recovery house in 1998 and has run single-gender sober living ever since.
A Branson-Area Sober Living Operator
CORE runs a full one-year residential program built around structure. Residents live in the organization's housing while resolving legal obligations, pursuing steady work, and completing a GED if they need one, and CORE provides the transportation that makes those requirements realistic in a tourism-driven local economy.
Serving Men and Women Separately
CORE houses men and women in separate residences and does not permit contact between them on either property. That separation runs for the full length of the program, and it means every rule, meeting and shared space at a CORE house is written for one gender.
MCRSP Certification Across CORE's Housing
CORE is certified by the Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers, the state's affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences. Certification obligates a published code of ethics, written disclosure of rules and fees before move-in, and a complaint process outside the organization itself. Missouri does not require this of recovery housing, which makes an operator's certification a signal of how it chooses to be held to account.
A Program Built on Testing and Employment
Random and on-request drug testing runs throughout CORE's program, and a positive result or any drug or alcohol use on the property ends a resident's stay immediately, with a thirty-day minimum before reapplying. Active job seeking is required from the start, which fits a Branson economy built on tourism and hospitality work available nearly year-round.
Recovery Housing for Taney County and Beyond
Branson anchors Taney County, whose seat is Forsyth, and CORE's presence in a destination town gives residents access to entry-level employment that smaller, quieter communities in the region cannot always supply. The organization's reach into nearby Springfield extends that same program to southwest Missouri's largest city.
Applying to a CORE Sober Living Home
CORE takes applicants into a structured, faith-neutral recovery model that expects full participation from the first day: legal compliance, active job searching, regular testing and, where needed, GED coursework. Anyone considering a CORE house should be ready to commit to a full year, not a short stabilization stay.
