Brenee'S Way
About Brenee'S Way
Brenee's Way is a sober living operator in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, running two registered recovery houses in Milwaukee County under one owner.
A Milwaukee Recovery Housing Provider
Brenee's Way works on the same scale as many of Milwaukee's smaller recovery housing providers: a couple of properties, one operator, answering directly for the households it runs. That structure means a resident's questions about fees, rules or a move-in date go straight to the person responsible, not to an intake office.
Two Registered Houses in Milwaukee
The operator runs two houses, both inside the city:
- Brenee's Way, registered for three residents.
- Brenees Way, registered for five residents, listed by the state without the apostrophe.
Between them the two addresses hold eight beds. Two houses under one operator means a resident who needs a different set of housemates has somewhere to move without leaving an operator who already knows their history.
What the State Registry Records
Wisconsin does not license recovery residences the way it licenses clinical treatment facilities. Both Brenee's Way houses appear on the state's voluntary Department of Health Services recovery residence registry, which records an operator's own attestation that the address houses people in recovery. It is not an inspection and not a certification. Both houses are recorded as accepting residents on medication-assisted treatment, which matters to anyone prescribed buprenorphine or methadone who has been turned away from housing over it.
Certification Is a Separate Question
Certification in Wisconsin runs through the Wisconsin Association of Sober Housing, the state's only NARR affiliate, and it is voluntary. Neither Brenee's Way house currently carries it. Most Milwaukee recovery homes do not, and an absence from that list is not a finding against a house.
Working in Milwaukee County
Milwaukee County holds more recovery housing than anywhere else in Wisconsin, and both houses sit inside the city where the county's outpatient providers, courts and transit converge. A small operator in that market still carries weight, because the pool a resident is choosing from locally is large and a house that answers the phone quickly stands out.
Reaching Brenee's Way
Applications go directly to the operator, who can confirm which of the two houses has an opening, the fee structure and the house rules. Neither street address is published, so placement is arranged before a resident sees the property.
