AWARE
About AWARE
AWARE is a nonprofit behavioral health and disability services provider based in Montana, operating statewide with certified recovery housing as one part of a much larger continuum of care.
A Statewide Montana Behavioral Health Provider
AWARE has operated in Montana for fifty years, growing from a single conversation in Anaconda into a statewide nonprofit with locations across the state and more than 850 employees. The organization is accredited by CARF International and provides services spanning childhood development, family support, psychiatry, case management and adult residential care.
Recovery Housing as One Part of a Larger Continuum
Unlike an operator whose only business is sober living, AWARE runs residential recovery housing alongside outpatient psychiatry, case management, applied behavior analysis and housing placement assistance. A resident in AWARE's housing can move between residential support, outpatient treatment and case management without changing organizations, a different proposition from a standalone sober house with no clinical services attached.
What Certification and Accreditation Establish
AWARE's recovery housing is certified under Montana's affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences, Recovery Access Montana, on top of the organization's own CARF International accreditation. That combination of a national accrediting body and a state recovery residence certification gives AWARE's housing a level of outside review that a small, independent operator rarely carries.
Serving Western Montana and Beyond
AWARE maintains locations across the state, including Missoula, Helena, Billings, Butte and Great Falls, and serves individuals across all fifty-six Montana counties. That statewide footprint means a person referred into AWARE's housing in one community can often stay connected to the same organization if they relocate elsewhere in Montana.
