Another Day Clean
About Another Day Clean
Another Day Clean is a sober living operator based in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, running licensed recovery homes for men and women across Montgomery and Chester counties. Rachel and John Machen founded the organization in 2016 after the overdose death of their daughter, and the company describes its purpose as helping other families avoid the same loss. It now runs ten recovery homes in Pottstown and Phoenixville.
A Pottstown Sober Living Operator
Another Day Clean is a housing organization first. Its houses supply structure, a house manager's oversight and a stable address, while clinical care comes from outside providers residents already see or are referred to. The operator's job is keeping the housing consistent from one address to the next, which is what a resident notices most when moving between its houses.
Ten Licensed Homes in Pottstown and Phoenixville
Ten Another Day Clean houses carry a Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs license under Act 59:
- 1106 Queen Street, Pottstown, for women.
- 67 North Hanover Street, Pottstown, for men.
- 122 King Street, Pottstown, for men.
- 205 Jefferson Avenue, Pottstown, for women.
- 403 South Street, Pottstown, for men.
- 312 King Street, Pottstown, for men.
- 304 North York Street, Pottstown, for men.
- 382 New Street, Pottstown, for men.
- 401 South Street, Pottstown, for men.
- 301 Dayton Street, Phoenixville, for men.
Eight houses are for men and two for women, and the Phoenixville address extends the operator's reach into Chester County while the rest of the portfolio stays inside Pottstown, in Montgomery County.
Serving Men and Women Separately
Every Another Day Clean address is single-gender, and the operator never mixes men and women under one roof. A woman applies to one of two women's houses on Queen Street or Jefferson Avenue, and a man applies to one of eight men's houses spread across Pottstown and Phoenixville, with each house holding to the same core expectations regardless of which street it sits on.
What a DDAP License Confirms Across the Portfolio
Pennsylvania licenses recovery houses under Act 59, but licensure is voluntary, and Another Day Clean has chosen to carry it across the houses it runs. The Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs reviews a licensed operator and property against state standards and can act on that review through inspection, a stronger position than an unlicensed sober house can claim.
Support for Medication-Assisted Recovery
Another Day Clean accepts residents on Suboxone, Sublocade, methadone or Vivitrol across its houses, alongside residents pursuing abstinence-based recovery. That policy keeps a resident's prescribed treatment and housing working together.
One Application, Several Houses
Applications go through Another Day Clean directly, and the organization places residents across whichever of its houses fits an opening. If a house turns out to be a poor fit after move-in, a transfer is a conversation with an operator that already runs the alternative down the street or in the next town.
Financial Assistance and a 12-Step Requirement
Another Day Clean requires a weekly house meeting and at least five 12-step meetings a week from residents across its houses, and it makes financial assistance available to residents who arrive unemployed. Together those two policies describe the population the houses are built for: someone with little in hand at move-in who needs a schedule as much as a bed.
