Anchor Homes
About Anchor Homes
Anchor Homes is a sober living operator working out of Kanawha County, West Virginia, with nine certified recovery residences across the Kanawha Valley and one in Fairmont. The organization runs men's and women's houses at a flat $400 monthly fee and holds certification from the West Virginia Alliance of Recovery Residences at every address it operates.
A Kanawha Valley Recovery Housing Provider
Anchor Homes is a housing organization. Clinical care comes from outpatient providers in Charleston and the surrounding towns, and the operator's work is to hold the address steady, keep the fee predictable and apply the same rules from one house to the next. That consistency is what a resident notices when moving between properties, and this operator moves people between properties often.
Anchor Homes Sober Living Across the Kanawha Valley
Nine certified residences carry the Anchor Homes name:
- Grant Avenue and 4th Avenue in Saint Albans, for men and women respectively.
- East Dupont Avenue and East 10th Street in Belle, for women and men.
- Lightner Avenue in Dunbar, for men.
- Sun Valley Drive in Charleston, for women.
- Fayette Pike in Montgomery, holding both the coed Prep program and a long-term men's residence.
- Locust Avenue in Fairmont, for men.
Eight of the nine sit inside a twenty-five mile stretch of the Kanawha River from Saint Albans through Charleston to Montgomery. The ninth is two hours north in Marion County.
Two Programs in One Set of Recovery Homes
The Fayette Pike campus in Montgomery holds two separate certified programs. Prep is a fifty-four bed coed residence carrying Level 4 certification and charging no fee. Long-Term is a thirty-six bed men's residence at Level 2 on the standard monthly rate. A resident can enter through the free high-support program and move into the general portfolio afterward without changing operator.
Medication-Assisted Recovery at Every Anchor Homes Address
All nine residences accept residents on Sublocade, Vivitrol and Brixadi, and several also accept Suboxone. West Virginia has more overdose deaths per capita than any other state, and an operator that sets its medication policy at portfolio level.
Men's and Women's Sober Houses Under One Operator
Anchor Homes runs single-gender houses across most of the portfolio, with capacities from eight to twenty-three beds. Men apply in Saint Albans, Belle, Dunbar, Montgomery or Fairmont, women in Saint Albans, Belle or Charleston. Applying to the operator, and a transfer later is a conversation with people who already know them.
