Endazhi-noojimong Men's Recovery House

About this Recovery House

Endazhi-noojimong is a men's sober living home in Hayward, Wisconsin, the seat of Sawyer County. The Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa runs it as a tribal government program, housing men working through a structured, phased recovery model.

A Men's Sober House Run by a Tribal Government

The Lac Courte Oreilles Band operates Endazhi-noojimong directly, placing it outside the private and nonprofit operators that run most Wisconsin sober housing. As a tribal government program, it answers to the Band's own governance and is not required to appear on any state list to be a legitimate, currently operating recovery residence.

The Phased Program at Endazhi-noojimong

The Band's own program materials describe Endazhi-noojimong as a four-month, phase-based residential model, with expectations that build as a resident moves from one phase to the next. That structure gives a resident, and anyone referring one, a clear sense of what progress looks like over the course of the program.

Hayward and Sawyer County's Northwoods Setting

Hayward is the seat of Sawyer County and the main population center in Wisconsin's Northwoods region, a largely rural area where treatment and housing resources concentrate in a small number of towns. A resident at Endazhi-noojimong is placed in one of the few communities in the region with a fuller range of services close by.

Reaching the Lac Courte Oreilles Band About This Program
