About this Recovery Home
Horton House – 320 Smith Lane is a men's sober living home in San Marcos, Texas, in Hays County. It is one of three Smith Lane addresses run by The Horton House Sober Living.
A Men's Sober House on Smith Lane
This house serves men in recovery, with shared and single rooms available and a monthly rate of $600. The operator describes the property as totally remodeled inside and out roughly four years ago, which is worth knowing for anyone picturing an older, unrenovated rooming house. The reality here is a maintained sober living property.
What $600 a Month Covers
A flat $600 monthly rate, with a choice between a single or a shared room, gives a resident a predictable cost from day one. San Marcos runs cheaper than Austin or San Antonio on housing generally, and a fee this size reflects that, which matters for someone rebuilding savings after treatment.
Room Choice for Men in Recovery
Offering both single and shared rooms at the same address lets a resident choose privacy or a lower cost without switching houses. That flexibility is unusual; most sober homes fix room type by bed availability alone, not resident preference.
Two Sibling Houses on the Same Street
The Horton House Sober Living also runs 310 Smith Lane, a second men's house, and 322 Smith Lane, a coed house, both on the same San Marcos street. A resident who needs a different setting within the same program has two nearby options to raise with an operator that already knows him.
Recovery Housing in San Marcos and Hays County
San Marcos is both a growing city on the I-35 corridor between Austin and San Antonio and the seat of Hays County, home to Texas State University and a base of outpatient providers that serve the wider county. That location gives a resident access to two larger metro job markets without the cost of living inside either one.
