A Women's Sober Living Home Near Georgetown's Square

Georgetown's downtown square, built around the restored 1911 Williamson County Courthouse, anchors the city's older residential streets, and Central Drive sits within easy reach of it. Women living at Journeys Sober Home have access to the shops, courts and county offices clustered downtown along with the outpatient providers scattered through the surrounding blocks, all without needing to drive into Austin.

Sober Living Certification in Texas

Texas leaves recovery housing largely unregulated. The Texas Recovery Oriented Housing Network, known as TROHN, certifies homes on a voluntary basis, and the absence of a certification says nothing about how a given house is run. A certified residence commits to a published code of ethics, written fee and rule disclosure, and an outside complaint process. The Vanderburgh House guide to certifying a Texas sober living home with TROHN lays out exactly what that process involves.

Recovery Housing in Williamson County

Georgetown is the seat of Williamson County and one of the fastest-growing cities in the Austin metro, which has pulled outpatient clinics, sober support meetings and entry-level employers into the city alongside its population. Southwestern University and the I-35 corridor both sit within the city limits, giving residents of a Georgetown sober house a path to school, work and treatment appointments without leaving the county.

What to Ask Before Moving Into This Georgetown Sober House

A prospective resident should ask what Journeys Sober Home does not advertise on its own: whether a house manager lives on site, what the weekly cost includes, how bedrooms are assigned, and how the house handles a relapse. Those specifics, confirmed directly with the house, matter more than anything a listing can say on its own.

ABOUT US Being new to recovery it can be difficult to transition into a so called normal life. We strive to help women to live a responsible, sober life with added accountability to assist in staying sober. Just like the tools we learn in AA/NA, rules and regulations are placed for the benefit of personal growth. We work as a team to keep the serenity of the house. By using structure for growth, we can recognize our patterns of irresponsible behavior and prepare to be sober, independent, and strong women. Sober living homes are group residences for people who are recovering from addiction. In most instances, people who live in sober homes have to follow certain house rules and contribute to the home by doing chores. Most importantly, residents must stay sober throughout their stay in the home.
