About this Recovery House

The OUTside INN is a sober living home for pregnant and parenting women in Union City, Tennessee, in Obion County. The program houses mothers and their children together for eighteen to twenty-four months, built on the idea that a mother's recovery and her relationship with her children can be worked on in the same place.

A Recovery Home for Mothers and Children in Northwest Tennessee

The OUTside INN accepts women who are pregnant or already parenting, along with their children, so entering treatment housing does not require placing children elsewhere first. Residents must be at least eighteen and have seventy-two hours of sobriety before admission, and the program is explicitly Christ-centered, so applicants should expect a faith component built into daily life at the house.

Certified Through Tennessee's Recovery Residence Framework

The OUTside INN is operated by a certified operator under the Tennessee Alliance of Recovery Residences, which requires a published code of ethics, disclosed fees and house rules, and an outside complaint process, on top of its own funding relationship with the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and the Tennessee Opioid Abatement Council.

Housing Six Families at a Time

The program's capacity runs to six families, a scale that keeps staff attention concentrated. Case management, meal preparation, medication assistance, therapeutic services and on-site laundry are all built into daily life, and the property is wheelchair accessible.

Recovery Housing in Obion County

Union City is the seat of Obion County, in the far northwest corner of Tennessee near the Kentucky border and close to Reelfoot Lake. It is one of the few Tennessee recovery housing addresses built specifically for women who would otherwise have to choose between entering treatment and staying with their children, and its funding through state opioid abatement dollars reflects that gap being treated as a state priority.
