A Women's Recovery House Near the Harpeth River

Pegram sits along the Harpeth River west of Nashville, in Cheatham County, and the setting gives residents a rural buffer from the city without placing them far from Middle Tennessee's largest job market and treatment network. That balance, distance from an old routine paired with reasonable access to Nashville, shapes who the program tends to serve.

Peer-Led Recovery, Not Clinical Staffing

Every staff member at Still Waters has personal recovery experience, and the women's program follows the same structure as the organization's men's campus: mornings built around meditation, days organized around the 12 steps, and accountability handled by staff who have lived through the same process residents are working. Still Waters traces its philosophy back to historical peer recovery models including Bill and Lois Wilson's High Watch Farm.

Part of a Program That Has Graduated Over 1,000 People

Still Waters started in 2009 with 14 beds for men and has since grown into a two-campus operation. The Pegram women's program gives the organization a second single-gender household, run under the same founding philosophy as the original Lobelville site but built and staffed separately for women.

Cheatham County and the Nashville Corridor

Cheatham County's seat is Ashland City, and Pegram sits inside the same county along a corridor that feeds directly into Nashville. Residents here are close enough to Middle Tennessee's largest concentration of outpatient providers, employers and 12-step meetings to use them, while the town itself keeps the program removed from the pace of the city.

A Companion Program in Perry County

Still Waters Recovery for Women shares its name and founding philosophy with the men's program roughly an hour away in Lobelville. The two campuses operate independently day to day, each serving one gender, but a family comparing options for a man and a woman in the same household can look at the same organization for both.

Admissions for Still Waters Potential residents are interviewed by staff to determine their appropriateness for Still Waters. All information remains confidential. It is required that all residents of the Still Waters program must give permission for Still Waters staff to contact appropriate individuals for emergency contact, family contact, and any other individuals the resident may need us to contact. Applicants not qualified for Still Waters services are provided with a list of alternatives and assisted with program placement. Still Waters is geared for motivated individuals who need a very 12-Step intensive program instead of a traditional treatment model.  We are committed to help those who are motivated for change to make the needed adjustments and commitments to realize a daily life free from alcohol and drugs and based on the spiritual principles of 12-step recovery.
