A Peer-Driven Women's Sober House

The house runs on peer accountability. Residents keep community support and a degree of structure while taking back the daily decisions that independent living requires: managing money, holding a schedule, handling conflict without a staff member arbitrating. That transfer of responsibility is the whole point of this stage, and doing it inside a supported household is safer than doing it alone in an apartment.

A Step Toward Independent Living

Women reach Horizon either by moving up from the operator's more structured program or by entering directly with time already behind them. Having both under one organization means the step down does not require finding a new operator, a new set of housemates and a new set of rules at exactly the moment stability matters most.

What Certification Requires of This Recovery Residence

Certification through the state affiliate obliges the house to disclose fees and rules in writing before move-in, keep a written relapse and discharge policy, work under a code of ethics, and accept complaints reviewed outside the household. Applications are taken online, and some forms of medication-assisted treatment are accepted.
