Licensed Under Pennsylvania's Act 59

The Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs licenses recovery houses under Act 59 of 2017, and licensure is voluntary statewide. A licensed house has cleared a state inspection and meets staffing and safety standards that an unlicensed rooming house is never held to. First Step Recovery Homes has not published a claim of certification through the Pennsylvania Alliance of Recovery Residences, the voluntary track that runs alongside DDAP licensure in this state, though its DDAP license stands on its own as a public record.

Recovery Housing in the Mon Valley

McKeesport sits along the Monongahela River in Allegheny County, in the industrial river towns collectively known as the Mon Valley.
