Rachel's House is a women's sober living home in Levittown, Pennsylvania, in Bucks County, operated by the Christian recovery nonprofit True Light. The organization was founded in 2015 to build community among women recovering from addiction, abuse and sexual exploitation.

Rachel's House houses women in early recovery under a single set of expectations. True Light does not publish a street address for the property, so placement runs through the operator directly rather than through a published location. Levittown is one of Bucks County's largest communities, with a residential grid built in the 1950s and enough retail and bus service along its main corridors to make daily errands manageable without a car.

A Christian, Trauma-Informed Recovery Model

True Light was founded by Tracey Long, a survivor herself, and runs as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built around a Christian model of love, forgiveness and empowerment. The organization pairs housing with counseling, mentoring and connections to therapists and ministers, aiming specifically at women whose recovery is tied to histories of abuse or exploitation as well as addiction.

What Pennsylvania Certification Would Add

Pennsylvania does not publish a certification record for every recovery residence in the state, since the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs' license is voluntary and the Pennsylvania Alliance of Recovery Residences keeps no public roster of certified addresses. Either credential, when an operator holds it, commits the house to a published code of ethics and a written disclosure of fees and rules before move-in.

Recovery Housing in Bucks County

Levittown is one of the largest communities in lower Bucks County, and its position along the Philadelphia border gives residents of Rachel's House access to outpatient treatment providers, court services and entry-level employment without needing to leave the county. Bucks County's seat, Doylestown, sits a short drive north.

Reaching Rachel's House Through True Light

Applications for Rachel's House go through True Light directly rather than through the house itself. The questions worth asking track the organization's mission: whether the program's Christian framework fits the applicant, how True Light coordinates with outside therapists and ministers, and what the transition looks like after the structured phase of the program ends.

We have double/triple rooms and sober house residents are required to share a room.  Each resident is responsible for keeping her room clean and doing her own laundry along with the list of chores each woman receives. In order to have the  sober living houses function properly , we have a long list of rules.  Below are some of the more important policies that residents need to be aware of.  1. The use or possession of illegal drugs, alcohol or weapons or physical violence , threats of physical violence in the sober is strictly forbidden and may result in immediate discharge.  All sober living rooms can be searched at any time and random drug/alcohol testing will be given.  2. Curfew is 9pm Sunday through Thursday and 11pm Friday and Saturday.  3. Residents in the sober houses must attend and actively participate in all of the following:       - Sunday morning church service.       - Monday-Thursday meetings as scheduled.      - Friday evening Conquering Addictions meeting .      - Personal counseling as scheduled.      - Social activities as they occur      - Preparing dinner (each will have assigned nights)      - Daily and weekly chores to keep the house clean at all times.  4. All residents are expected to do what they are asked to do by the staff without complaining or a critical attitude.   True Light provides sober living residents with food, utilities, clothing, a bed and bedding, toiletries and more upon arrival.  The basic necessities are provided for each resident for up to 90 days while she focuses on healing and recovery.  After 90 days  each sober house resident must be working to pay rent and help with the expenses of the house.                                                                                      Â
