About this Sober House

Hope is Alive Recovery Home T1 is a men's sober living home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, in Tulsa County. Eleven men live here under Hope is Alive Ministries, and the house holds Level 2 certification from the Oklahoma Alliance for Recovery Resources.

A Men's Sober House in Broken Arrow's Tulsa Metro Footprint

Broken Arrow is one of the largest cities in the Tulsa metro, reached from downtown Tulsa by the Broken Arrow Expressway, and it carries its own residential base separate from the city it borders. Hope is Alive markets T1 and its other three Tulsa-area houses together under a single regional page, because the four residences draw on one shared job market and one shared set of twelve-step meetings. T1 is the code the ministry and the state registry both use for this house.

Eleven Beds and Life Inside This Sober Living Home

Most rooms in the house hold two men. Each resident is given a bed with new bedding, a dresser, a nightstand and a lamp, roughly four feet of hanging space and a defined share of the kitchen. A sobriety coach is assigned to the house and walks alongside the men living there, and in a house of eleven the coach is not stretched across more residents than he can actually track.

What OKARR Level 2 Certification Requires of a Sober Living Home

The Oklahoma Alliance for Recovery Resources, the state's sole recognized certifier of recovery residences and its affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences, requires a certified house to commit in writing to a code of ethics, disclose its fees and rules before move-in, keep a written relapse and discharge policy, and accept a complaint process run outside the house. Oklahoma does not require certification of a standalone recovery residence, so T1 carries it by the operator's own choice.

T1 and T2: Two Men's Recovery Homes in Broken Arrow

Hope is Alive runs a second men's house, T2, in the same city. A man applying to either address is considered for both, and a transfer between them is a short conversation with a coach who already knows him. Between the two houses, twenty-two beds of certified men's sober living sit inside Broken Arrow city limits.

Work, Meetings and the Three-Week Rule in This Sober House

Residents are expected to hold full-time work, attend school or volunteer steadily within three weeks of moving in, and thirty twelve-step meetings are expected in the first thirty days, with a sponsor to follow within six months. A Monday night Bible study runs for the first six months of the program, alongside a midweek curriculum session and a Sunday speaker meeting for the full stay. Drug testing uses sixteen-panel tests at move-in and randomly afterward. The program itself runs a year to eighteen months, and graduates move into the ministry's alumni association.

Recovery Housing Across the Greater Tulsa Metro

Hope is Alive advertises its Tulsa-area houses, T1 included, as serving residents from across Broken Arrow, Jenks, Bixby, Owasso, Glenpool, Sand Springs, Catoosa, Skiatook, Muskogee and Collinsville, a footprint that covers most of the Tulsa metro's southern and eastern suburbs. Tulsa itself, the county seat, holds the region's outpatient providers, courts and larger job base, and Broken Arrow's own commercial corridors along Kenosha Street and the Broken Arrow Expressway supply entry-level work close to the house.
