GRATITUDE HOUSE Men's Recovery House

About this Recovery House

Gratitude House is a men's sober living home in Portsmouth, Ohio, certified by Ohio Recovery Housing and serving Scioto County. It is certified at the Managed level and holds four beds.

A Four-Bed Managed Sober House

Four beds makes this one of the operator's smallest residences, and a house this size runs almost entirely on the relationships among the men living there. The residence is wheelchair accessible, and staff oversight covers a household small enough that a change in someone's mood or routine is hard to miss.

Managed Certification and What It Requires of a Recovery Residence

Ohio Recovery Housing's Managed level requires a code of ethics in writing, fees and house rules disclosed before admission, a documented relapse and discharge policy, and a complaint process that reaches beyond the house itself. Clinical care remains with outside providers.

Scioto County's Courts and Sober Living in Portsmouth

Scioto County's courts sit in Portsmouth, and residents arriving through a diversion program or with an open probation case can meet those obligations without a trip out of the county. Living inside the same city as the courthouse removes one common source of missed appointments in early recovery.

Applying to This Portsmouth Recovery Home

No street address is published, and placement runs through St. Helen's Homes. Ask what the fee covers, whether a manager is on site, how the four beds get filled, and how a relapse is handled.
