Compassion House Men's Recovery House

About this Recovery House

Compassion House is a men's sober living home in Portsmouth, Ohio, certified by Ohio Recovery Housing and serving Scioto County. The residence is certified at the Peer-Run level and reports five beds.

A Peer-Run Recovery Residence of Five Men

At the Peer-Run level, residents themselves carry most of the daily structure, and a five-bed household keeps that manageable without a large staff presence directing the schedule. Accountability here runs between housemates as much as it runs from any outside authority.

What Certification Still Guarantees at a Peer-Run Sober House

Ohio Recovery Housing requires a published code of ethics, fees and rules disclosed before move-in, a written relapse and discharge policy, and a complaint process outside the house at every certification level. The residence is wheelchair accessible.

Portsmouth's Place in Southern Ohio Recovery Housing

Portsmouth sits on the Ohio River across from Kentucky and serves as Scioto County's seat, drawing residents from across the tri-state region into a city with a hospital, courts and a university already in place.
