The Edna House is a women's sober living home on West 65th Street in Cleveland, Ohio, in Cuyahoga County. Four women in recovery founded it in 2004, and it has run continuously in the same Cleveland neighborhood for more than two decades since.

Since opening in 2004, The Edna House has housed more than 1,900 women and logged over 7,600 nights of safe housing. That history gives the organization something a newer sober house cannot claim: a long track record inside the same West Side Cleveland community, run by people who built it from their own recovery rather than as an outside program.
A Non-Judgmental, Twelve-Step Program
The house runs on twelve-step principles without micromanaging how a resident works her own recovery. Job skills training and active help finding local employment are part of the program, reflecting a philosophy that stable work is as much a part of staying sober as meetings and sponsorship are.
Fully Donor-Funded Recovery Housing
The Edna House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit sustained entirely by private donations from individuals and corporations, with no reliance on government contracts for its operating budget. That funding model gives the house latitude in how it runs the program, and it also means the organization depends on the Cleveland community it serves to keep the house open.
Recovery Housing in Cuyahoga County
Cleveland's West Side gives residents access to Cuyahoga County's job market, outpatient providers, and transit without leaving the neighborhood the house has operated in since 2004. We provide residents a safe, focused environment, in which women eat, sleep, and breathe their own recovery. We impart personal responsibility through residents' ownership of the house and commitment to a structured daily life. And most importantly, we provide access to the recovery community that is the essential link towards making real, lasting change in a woman's life.
