What Recovery Housing Certification Requires in Ohio

Ohio Recovery Housing is the state's NARR affiliate, and since the start of 2026 its certification and the state recovery-housing registry have been one list. A certified residence commits in writing to a code of ethics, discloses fees and house rules before move-in, keeps a written relapse and discharge policy, and answers to a complaint process outside the house.

Summit County Recovery Housing in Akron

Akron is the seat of Summit County, where Alcoholics Anonymous was founded in 1935, and the city still carries that institutional memory around recovery. The University of Akron, Akron Children's Hospital and Cleveland Clinic Akron General all operate within the same city limits.

The street address is not published, and placement runs through the operator. Certification means the same disclosures apply here as anywhere in Ohio: the weekly fee, the house rules and what happens after a relapse.
