Buchtel House Men's Recovery House

About this Recovery House

Buchtel House is a men's sober living home in Akron, Ohio, certified by Ohio Recovery Housing and serving Summit County.

A Wheelchair-Accessible Men's Sober House

Buchtel House is wheelchair accessible, and nine beds gives it enough size to run a full staff schedule under Managed certification. A resident managing a mobility need has a narrower field of options, and this house is built to accommodate one.

What Managed Certification Requires of This Recovery Residence

A certified house commits in writing to a code of ethics, discloses fees and rules before move in, keeps a written relapse and discharge policy, and answers to a complaint process outside the house. Clinical treatment stays with outside providers under Managed certification.

Akron and Summit County Recovery Housing

Akron is the seat of Summit County, home to the University of Akron and Summa Health, with a downtown courts complex and a regional bus system connecting neighborhoods across the county. That density gives a resident options for work, treatment and transportation.

Applying to This Accessible Sober Living Home

The street address is not published, and placement runs through the operator. Certification already sets what is worth confirming: what the fee covers, how the nine beds are assigned, and how accessibility needs are handled at move in.
