The Largest House in the Mo Better Living Network

Fifteen women live at Eleanore's House at a time, more than at any other Mo Better Living property, which makes the weekly house meeting a bigger and busier version of what runs at the operator's smaller houses. Rent is five hundred dollars a month, the same rate charged across the network, with WiFi and on-site laundry included.

Peer Accountability at Scale

A larger house changes what peer accountability looks like in practice: more people to answer to, and more people who notice if a resident is struggling before it becomes a crisis. Each woman is still assigned her own peer support specialist, so the size of the house does not dilute individual support into a crowd.

Support for Women on Medication-Assisted Treatment

Eleanore's House accepts residents on methadone or buprenorphine without requiring them to taper off before move-in. For a woman whose stability depends on a prescribed medication, that policy is often the difference between qualifying for sober housing and being turned away from it.

Eleanore's House is one of two women's houses Mo Better Living runs in St. Louis, alongside the smaller Cheryl's House. Both sit inside the city of St. Louis, close to the outpatient providers, employers and transit corridors that most residents rely on before a car becomes realistic again.

ABOUT US Recovery supportive homes are group homes for people who are recovering from substance use disorder. People who live in recovery supportive homes have to follow certain rules and contribute to the home by doing chores. Most importantly, residents must stay sober throughout their stay in the home. Living in this type of environment can support sobriety and help alcoholics or those with substance use disorder adjust to life without their addictions. Many with substance use disorder use recovery supportive housing to help them transition from rehab to living independently without using drugs or alcohol.
