About this Recovery House

Higher Ground Recovery House - Men's Program is a men's sober living home in Springfield, Missouri, the seat of Greene County, run from a Christian perspective in partnership with Highlife Church.

A Men's Sober Living Home Built Around Church Attendance

The men's program pairs sober housing with weekly attendance at Highlife Church, and residents can stay as long as they need without a fixed program length. That flexibility is deliberate: the operator's stated goal is a substance-free lifestyle sustained over time, not a set number of weeks completed.

Separate Housing for Men and Women

Higher Ground runs its men's and women's residences as distinct households, each single-gender. Men in the program share a house environment focused on sobriety and consistent church involvement, with staff following up on applications by phone or email directly.

Recovery Resources in Springfield and Greene County

Springfield serves as the hub of Greene County and much of southwest Missouri, and that concentration of churches, treatment providers and meetings is part of what makes a faith-based program like Higher Ground viable here. A resident can attend Highlife Church, keep outpatient appointments and stay connected to a recovery community without leaving the city.

Certification Is Optional for Missouri Sober Homes

No state law requires a Missouri recovery residence to certify with any body. The Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers runs the state's voluntary program, and a faith-based house organized around a specific congregation may reasonably operate outside it while still holding residents to a clear standard.

Starting the Application Process

Men interested in Higher Ground can apply online or on paper, then follow up directly with the program. Worth confirming before moving in: the church attendance expectation, whether medication-assisted treatment is accommodated, and what happens if a resident stops attending services.

ABOUT US We believe that long-term success in recovery can best be achieved by applying the truth of Scripture to established mindsets and strongholds in a least restrictive setting. Therefore, our goal is to assist house members to progress at their own pace until able to adequately address their own needs by becoming self-sustaining and sufficient through the use of community based supports such as the local church, faith-based recovery supports, Christ-centered 12-step groups, Alcoholics Anonymous,Narcotics Anonymous and other self-help groups
