Fort Good Shepherd Ranch - Wilderness Bunkhouse Men's Recovery House

About this Recovery House

Fort Good Shepherd Ranch – Wilderness Bunkhouse is a men's sober living residence in Cuba, Missouri, in Crawford County, one of three bunkhouses Mission Gate Ministry runs on its Fort Good Shepherd Ranch property.

One of Three Bunkhouses on the Ranch

Wilderness Bunkhouse sits farthest from the ranch's central buildings, set among the property's timber, for men whose program emphasizes solitude and outdoor work. All three bunkhouses share the ranch's staff, land and Christian recovery program, giving Mission Gate Ministry room to run a larger men's population without collapsing everyone into a single building.

Mission Gate Ministry's Recovery Program

Men at Wilderness Bunkhouse follow the same phased, faith-based residential program as every Mission Gate Ministry house, applying directly to the ministry and working toward graduation and family reunification.

Recovery Housing Along the Meramec River

Fort Good Shepherd Ranch sits along the Meramec River in Crawford County, whose seat is Steelville. The rural, riverside setting is central to the ranch's program, giving residents outdoor work and distance from an urban environment.

Missouri Sober Living Certification

Missouri's certification for recovery residences, through the Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers, is voluntary, and a home's absence from the certified list is not a negative finding. Wilderness Bunkhouse operates under Mission Gate Ministry, a certified-eligible operator active in four counties.

Part of the Fort Good Shepherd Ranch Property

Wilderness Bunkhouse shares its ranch with two sibling bunkhouses under the same operator, and connects to Mission Gate Ministry's other men's and women's housing across St. Louis, Sullivan and Cuba.
