Rubicon Recovery Housing is a coed recovery residence on Martin Luther King Avenue in Flint, Michigan, the seat of Genesee County. It is operated by Flint Odyssey House, a Flint organization that has run substance use treatment and recovery housing in the city for decades from its Beach Street headquarters.

In practice that means the house meeting carries weight, a housemate is expected to say something when another resident drifts, and the program treats peer pressure as an asset instead of a hazard.
What This Flint Recovery Home Asks Before Move-In
The operator publishes two conditions for its recovery housing. A resident needs at least thirty days free of drugs and alcohol before arriving, and must be enrolled in outpatient or intensive outpatient services while living in the house. Both conditions point at the same design: this is housing for someone already in treatment who needs a stable, substance-free address to make the treatment stick, and it is not a detox or a place to begin.

Michigan does not license, register or certify recovery residences; the only external standard available is voluntary certification through the Michigan Association of Recovery Residences, the state affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences. Certification commits a residence to a code of ethics, written disclosure of fees and rules before move-in, a written relapse and discharge policy, and a complaint process reaching past the house. Because it is voluntary and granted address by address, the useful question for any Michigan house is what it can show in writing.
