About this Recovery House

Live Rite Properties - Eastpointe is a men's sober living home in Eastpointe, Michigan, in Macomb County, run by Live Rite Structured Recovery Corp. It is one of thirteen recovery houses the nonprofit operates across the southern half of the county.

A Men's Sober House in Eastpointe

The house serves men in recovery. Live Rite publishes no street address for any of its houses, and placement is arranged through the organization, so the useful detail is what the operator does say about this one: it sits close to a main commercial corridor and to bus stops. For a man without a car in his first months of sobriety, that combination decides whether a shift, a meeting and a probation appointment are all reachable. Eastpointe is a compact city of about thirty-two thousand at the southwest corner of Macomb County, with Eight Mile Road as its border with Detroit.

What It Costs to Live in This Macomb County Recovery Home

Self-pay is $154 a week plus a $50 move-in fee. Several funding routes sit behind that. MCOSA covers the first sixty days for residents who qualify, FAN scholarships cover an initial two weeks, and Live Rite runs scholarships of its own. Published rates and named funding sources are worth more to a man leaving jail than a lower advertised number with no explanation of who pays for the first month.

One Application Across Thirteen Sober Living Homes

Live Rite runs houses in Eastpointe, St. Clair Shores, Fraser, Mount Clemens, Warren and Roseville, split by gender and by stage. There are men's houses, women's houses, a coed step-up house in Warren for residents past their first month, and two houses in Roseville built specifically for residents on medication-assisted recovery. A man applying in Eastpointe is applying to a network, and a change in what he needs after a month is a conversation with staff who already know him instead of a new search.

Certification and Michigan Recovery Housing Oversight

Michigan has no state license, registry or permit for recovery residences, and certification through the Michigan Association of Recovery Residences is voluntary. A house that is not on that list has not lost anything and has not failed an inspection, because there is no inspection to fail. Live Rite holds a State of Michigan substance abuse program license through the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, which is a separate credential covering the treatment side of its work. The questions certification would answer are still the right ones to ask directly: what the fee covers, what the house rules are in writing, what happens after a relapse, and who hears a complaint the house manager will not resolve.

Eastpointe Recovery Housing and Southern Macomb County

Eastpointe sits at the seam between Detroit and Macomb County, which is exactly why the address works. Wayne County's courts and clinics are minutes south across Eight Mile, and Mount Clemens, the Macomb county seat, holds the circuit court, the county jail and the probation offices to the north. SMART buses run the corridors in both directions. A man whose court obligations are in one county and whose job is in the other can hold both from here.

We established our organization in January of 2012 and are continually expanding. Currently we own and manage nine recovery houses in Macomb County.  We help individuals affected by substance use disorders live a life of recovery, growth, productivity, and healing.  Our staff members and mentors provide a service plan with experience, insight, and encouragement along the way in the journey of early recovery.
