The Way Homes on Mountain Road Coed Recovery House

2406 Mountain Rd, Pasadena, Maryland, 21122

About this Recovery House

The Way Homes on Mountain Road is a coed recovery residence in Pasadena, Maryland, in Anne Arundel County. Pasadena sits on the peninsula between the Patapsco and Magothy rivers in Central Maryland, about fifteen miles from Annapolis and about the same from downtown Baltimore.

A Coed Sober Living Home on Mountain Road

Mountain Road is the spine of Pasadena, a long commercial and residential corridor running east from Ritchie Highway toward the water. This house is one of several the operator maintains along it. Men and women both live in The Way Homes' residences, in separate households, and the whole network holds up to twenty-eight residents. Being on Mountain Road puts a resident within reach of the grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants and small employers that line it, which is the practical difference between a sober house someone can live in without a car and one they cannot.

A Christ Centered Recovery Housing Program

The Way Homes is explicit about its foundation. It is a Christ-centered program, and residents commit to working a 12-step program with Jesus Christ as their higher power. That is a real filter, and it belongs at the top of anyone's decision. A resident who wants faith at the center of recovery gets a household organized around it. A resident who does not should look elsewhere, and knowing that before applying saves everyone a bad placement.

A Network of Recovery Homes Across Pasadena

The organization opened its first residence in 2007 and has added five more since, all in Pasadena. The cluster is tight, and the effect on a resident is practical. Moving between houses leaves the town, the bus route, the job and the meeting schedule unchanged, and the people making the decision already know the resident. A network of small houses in one town also means a bed opens up more often than it would at a single address.

Reaching Baltimore and Annapolis From This Sober House

Pasadena's position is genuinely useful for someone rebuilding a routine. Ritchie Highway and I-97 run north to Baltimore and south to Annapolis, the state capital and the Anne Arundel County seat, and both are inside a half-hour drive. Anne Arundel Medical Center, the county health department, the circuit court and the county's outpatient providers are concentrated in and around Annapolis. Baltimore's job market, its two academic medical systems and the Cromwell Station light rail terminus sit at the other end. Few Central Maryland addresses reach both.

What to Ask Before Moving Into This Recovery Residence

Applications and room availability run through the organization. Ask what the weekly cost is, whether a house manager lives on site, which house has the opening and who else lives there, what the meeting expectation is, how long residents typically stay, and what the house requires about work. Ask directly about the faith commitment too, because it shapes daily life here more than any other single rule.
