Patty's Place 1 is a women's sober house on Frankford Avenue in Baltimore, Maryland. It sits in Baltimore City, which stands outside every Maryland county, a few doors down from the operator's second women's residence on the same street.
A Women's Recovery Home on the Frankford Corridor
Women live here in a shared household, and the arrangement is deliberately domestic. Residents keep their own schedules, buy their own food, come and go for work and meetings, and answer to a house agreement instead of a treatment plan. The 4500 block of Frankford Avenue is residential in both directions, close enough to Belair Road that errands are walkable and far enough off it to be quiet at night.
Two Sober Houses on One Street
Having a second women's residence a short walk away changes the calculus for a resident in a real way. Housemates who move between the two houses stay in the same neighborhood, keep the same bus routes, keep the same meeting schedule and keep the people they already know. A resident who needs a different household without needing a different city can usually get one without starting over.
Northeast Baltimore Around This Recovery Residence
Frankford is one of the large northeast Baltimore neighborhoods that grew up around the Belair Road and Harford Road corridors. Herring Run Park runs nearby, the Northeast Market district and the Erdman Avenue employment strip are close, and MTA bus service ties the whole area to downtown and to both major hospital systems. Anne Arundel and Baltimore counties both begin within a short drive, so a resident with a car has a wider job market than the neighborhood alone suggests.

Anyone applying should ask what the fee is and when it is due, what the intake screening involves, how many women share a bedroom, whether there is a curfew, and what the house does when someone relapses. A residence that answers all five in writing before move-in is a residence that has thought about the answers. The Maryland Behavioral Health Administration publishes statewide resources for people who need treatment before housing.
It is the mission of Patty's Place to offer adult women recovery residents a safe and supportive sober home environment for further addiction recovery and to provide opportunities to achieve and maintain an independent, clean, productive lifestyle.  Patty's Place will make a difference in the quality of women's lives that are on a journey of recovery, learning to identify and achieve goals of being successful and productive. While we maintain a clean and sober environment we do not limit our facilities to just woman in recovery we understand that everyone might need a little help and support in all degrees of life. So our mission is to help anyone who is in need of change and is willing to do the work.
