About this Sober House

Recovery Plus for Women is a sober living home in Madisonville, Kentucky, in Hopkins County. It runs a 51-bed dual-diagnosis treatment and transitional living program for women ages eighteen to sixty-five, on Lamb Road.

A 51-Bed Women's Recovery Residence

Recovery Plus for Women is built around a three-phase model that runs anywhere from ninety days to eighteen months or longer, depending on what a resident needs. That range is the point: a woman further along in recovery moves through the phases faster, while someone starting from a harder place has room to take the time the program allows without being pushed out on a fixed schedule.

Dual-Diagnosis Care Alongside Housing

The program treats co-occurring mental health conditions alongside substance use, which matters for the significant share of women in recovery who are managing both at once. Housing that only addresses substance use and ignores an underlying mental health condition tends to see relapse sooner, and Recovery Plus for Women is structured to treat them together.

Kentucky's Certification Standard

Kentucky requires every recovery residence to be certified through the Kentucky Recovery Housing Network, and state agencies and health providers cannot refer a resident to a house that has not gone through that process. That standard applies to a program of this size the same as it does to a single-family sober house.

Recovery Housing in Hopkins County

Madisonville is the seat of Hopkins County in western Kentucky, and a 51-bed program based there serves women from across the surrounding coalfield counties where dedicated recovery housing is otherwise scarce. For a woman traveling from a smaller town nearby, Madisonville is often the closest place with a program built to handle both a substance use diagnosis and a mental health condition at the same time.
