About this Sober House

Rhonda's Another Chance is a sober living home for women in Louisville, Kentucky, in Jefferson County. The organization has worked with homeless women in west Louisville since 2000, and its house on South 31st Street pairs a stable address with a specific push toward education that few comparable programs offer.

A Women's Sober Living Home on South 31st Street

This sober living home serves women exclusively, and its location in west Louisville puts residents inside one of the city's most established residential neighborhoods, not an isolated address on the outskirts. TARC bus routes run along nearby corridors, which matters for a resident building toward a job or a GED class without a car of her own.

A Path Toward College, Not Just Toward Housing

Rhonda's Another Chance runs a Transition to College Scholarship program alongside its housing, an unusual pairing in recovery housing. Residents who complete the housing program and pursue higher education can apply for scholarship support, which turns the house into a bridge toward a credential, not just a stop between two other addresses.

Two Decades Serving West Louisville

Two decades of continuous operation is a meaningful credential in its own right for a small nonprofit sober living home. The organization has outlasted funding cycles that closed other programs in the same period, and it has built a base of community support reflected in its annual events and ongoing scholarship fundraising.

Sober Living in Jefferson County

Louisville is both the county seat and the largest city in Kentucky, and Jefferson County's size means a resident at Rhonda's Another Chance has an unusually wide set of outpatient providers, employers and colleges to draw on without leaving the metro area. Kentucky law requires certification for recovery residences statewide, and a resident evaluating any Louisville sober living home should ask directly whether a given address holds it through the Kentucky Recovery Housing Network.
