About this Recovery Home
Streator Recovery Home, in Streator, Illinois, is a sober living home for men in LaSalle County, run by the nonprofit Streator Recovery Home, Inc.
A Men's Recovery Home in Streator
Streator Recovery Home serves men in a shared, substance-free household in the city of Streator itself, rather than in one of the larger metropolitan centers elsewhere in Illinois. A single-gender household is the first thing a referring worker establishes about any placement, and a house in the city itself means a resident keeps whatever work, family and meeting attendance he already has in Streator.
A Registered Nonprofit Since 2016
Streator Recovery Home, Inc. has been designated a 501(c)(3) organization with tax-exempt status since March 2016, registered at a Streator address. That designation is a matter of public record, which gives a family one independently verifiable fact about the organization behind the house. It also means the registration can be looked up by name without going through the house at all, and that the ruling date, the registered address and the organization's stated purpose all sit outside its own account of itself.
Classified for Substance Use Recovery Work
The federal nonprofit register files Streator Recovery Home, Inc. under mental health and crisis intervention, alcohol and drug abuse, treatment only. The classification describes an organization set up for substance use recovery work rather than general charitable housing. That is a useful signal about purpose: the organization was registered for this work specifically rather than adapted to it from something else.
Recovery Housing in LaSalle County
Streator sits in LaSalle County, in north-central Illinois, among smaller manufacturing and farming communities rather than a dense urban core. The city stands on the Vermilion River, and Illinois Route 23 runs through it, linking Streator north toward Ottawa, the LaSalle County seat. For men looking for sober living in Streator, Illinois, or LaSalle County recovery housing near family and work, a men's recovery home in the city itself keeps that support network within reach.
Contacting Streator Recovery Home
The organization's website is not currently reachable online, so current intake availability and house expectations are best confirmed with Streator Recovery Home directly. In a smaller city a telephone call is generally the quickest route to a current answer about a place.
ABOUT US
Our organization was created with an eye toward being able to renovate buildings s that are able to accommodate the 6+ residents that Oxford House recommends. Richard Struck is a licensed union-trained electrician. We hope to share our skills with volunteers and residents, and have already met and gotten preliminary approval for our idea with Mayor Lansford and City Manager Wrighton.
We anticipate that nearby residents will be excited to see neglected properties improved and better people as neighbors!
Sober living homes are group residences for people who are recovering from addiction. In most instances, people who live in sober homes have to follow certain house rules and contribute to the home by doing chores. Most importantly, residents must stay sober throughout their stay in the home.
