About this Recovery Home
Hour House - Men's Residential Services is a recovery residence in Charleston, Illinois, at 635 Division Street in Coles County.
The Charleston Campus for Men
Hour House keeps its men's residential program on the Charleston campus at 635 Division Street. The organization records that campus as offering intake assessments, drug and alcohol detoxification services, adult men's residential programs, a men's halfway house, adolescent detoxification and speaker's bureau services. Men in the residential program live on the campus where those services are delivered.
Who Hour House Is
Central East Alcoholism and Drug Council, which operates as Hour House, is a community-based, not-for-profit corporation offering services to address substance use disorders and other therapeutic needs. It was originally incorporated in 1972 and opened its first facility in 1973. Hour House records ten locations in east central Illinois where specialized services for men, women, adolescents or women with children are available.
Accreditation and Licensing
Hour House states that Central East Alcoholism and Drug Council is accredited through CARF and licensed and funded in whole or in part through the Illinois Department of Human Services Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Licensed residential care and recovery housing sit side by side here, because residents live on site while the licensed program is delivered.
Levels of Men's Housing
Hour House publishes three men's housing services: men's halfway house services, men's residential services and men's three-quarter recovery home services. The Division Street campus is where the residential stage is delivered, and the men's recovery home at 657 Division Street stands on the same street, so two of the published stages sit on one corridor.
Coles County and East Central Illinois
Charleston is the seat of Coles County and the home of Eastern Illinois University. Hour House delivers services in Charleston, Mattoon, Shelbyville and Lerna, so this Coles County recovery housing sits inside a service area covering four communities.
Related Hour House Housing
Hour House runs a men's recovery home at 657 Division Street, a women's halfway and recovery home at 720 Fourth Street and a recovery home for women with children at 1501 Eighteenth Street, all in Charleston. Lerna carries a further women's residential service.
