The house serves men only, and its rural setting keeps the daily routine simple: work, meetings and the house itself are the main fixtures of a resident's week, without the distractions of a larger city.
Certified Through GARR
El Shaddai's Refuge is certified through the Georgia Association of Recovery Residences, known as GARR. Certification commits the residence to a published code of ethics, disclosed fees and house rules, and an outside complaint process, in a state where none of that is required by law. The house also carries approval through THOR Housing, a separate housing standard some Georgia recovery residences pursue alongside GARR.
Leadership Behind This Sober House
Jarrod Windham, who holds credentials as a Certified Addiction Counselor and in peer support and family services, serves as executive director. A house run by a credentialed addiction professional gives residents and their families someone with direct clinical background to raise questions with, beyond a house manager alone.

 Vocational & Spiritual Concept
Through various staffing agencies and businesses in the community, we help our residents begin the process to find a job within the first few days of joining us. Although family / friends might help a resident pay initial costs and fees, one major goal is for each resident to obtain a job and pay his own weekly fees. Also, as the resident learns and grows through Bible studies and 12-step meetings, we hope each will see that he can put Christ first even in commerce.
