Angel House of Georgia layers its housing with treatment most sober houses do not offer directly. The organization runs an intensive outpatient program for adults, individual and family counseling, anger management, and a state-approved intervention track for people referred after a DUI. Georgia's Department of Community Health approves the outpatient and education components, so a resident here is not choosing between a place to live and a place to get treatment. Both run out of the same address.

Structure for Women Rebuilding in Hall County

The program describes capacity across its residential and transitional buildings of up to forty people, which is large by sober house standards and lets the operator keep a waiting list short. Clinical evaluations, group counseling and case management continue after move-in, so the house functions less like a rooming arrangement and more like a staffed recovery program with a residential wing.

The apartment building the operator added in 2015 is reserved for women who have completed the residential phase, and it is set up to accommodate their children. Angel House of Georgia was established in May of 2011 and is currently approved through GARR (Georgia Recovery Residence), THOR Directory (Transitional Housing for Offender Re-entry) and a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization. Ms. English established Angel House with a vision of helping women recover from alcohol and drug addiction. After receiving the first resident in June of 2011 of this 12 month program, Angel House has now proudly graduated several women who still continue to have a life free of active addiction. We currently house 16 women and are at full capacity.
